Guest Lecture on Medicinal Herbs

The students and teachers of Orchids –The International School have come out with an innovative idea of growing medicinal herbs in the school camps to teach the students the importance of herbs. The students of classes 4 to 6 participated in the planting of medicinal herbs on 16th Dec. Mr.Ramana Rao a Rtd.Mechanical engineer started growing medicinal plants as his hobby.
‘Health is wealth’ is a common saying, but most of us take health for granted. We lead our lives as if nothing will go wrong with our bodies. Whether a homemaker, a student or professional, everyone carries on with life without thinking much about health. Like a machine, we switch on in the morning and switch off at night. And then one day the body crashes under all the pressure.
This is the fact of life. Most people tend to turn a blind eye to health. But it is the only important thing in life. And do you know, it takes the least amount of effort and time to do the right healthy things .One of the most effective and natural ways to maintain a healthy mind and body is by maintaining the intake and usage of herbs on a daily basis.
A vast majority of herbs have medicinal properties with no side effects.  If one takes herbs with the right kind of supervision, the medicinal property of herbs provides multiple benefits to the human body. A vast majority of people are shifting to a natural way of living. They are consuming herbs in the form of herbal tea, herbal cosmetics, herbal spices and ingredients in cooking, herbal oil, etc. The fact is that even if it is for medicinal use, there are innovative ways of using herbs in one’s day to day life.
